Quote of the day: “I absolutely love Christmas!”
What’s the quote from? Well, it’s from my favorite Christmas movie ever… Eloise at Christmastime. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. Both my parents think it is obnoxious… I think it’s fabulous. At the Plaza hotel in New York City, there’s a whole Eloise store! It’s wonderful.
I just wanted to hop on here and wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I hope everyone is surrounded by their loved one’s either physically or over Zoom. Hopefully next year we’re able to have large gatherings again!
Christmas at my house feels pretty normal for the most part. Usually on Christmas Eve, my aunt, uncle, and cousins come over for the day and we eat a lot of food and play games, but obviously that didn’t happen yesterday. On Christmas Day, it’s usually just my family, so today doesn’t really feel abnormal.
When we were young, my sister and I used to wake up really early (before the sun even started rising) and run to my parents room and wake them up to see what Santa brought us. Now, my parents are up first and have to wait for my sister and I to wake up (usually not too late… around 7:30 or 8:00am).
We started the day opening presents! I am in charge of bringing each person a present to open, so I feel like I’m constantly running around the tree. We open up presents individually, so my dad will open one, then my mom, then me, then my sister and then continue that till there’s no more presents.
After opening, we ate breakfast. My dad made french toast, but I decided to eat my delicious cinnamon rolls! The rest of the day was just hanging out. I am currently watching the Warriors game… I hope they beat the Bucks! Go Dubs!
Want to know one of my least favorite Christmas memories? Well senior year of high school I worked at this acai bowl place and unfortunately was scheduled to work on Christmas Eve. I got there around 9:00 am and had to work until 1:00 pm or something like that. Downtown was completely empty and there were a lot of parking spots… excellent! The first three hours were completely dead… until like the last 30 minutes. We got slammed and there were only 3 people working! It was a nightmare. We finally closed at 1:00 pm and had to clean so much! I finally left at 4:00pm and walked to my car to find out I had a freaking parking ticket! Who gives parking tickets out on Christmas Eve… and plus it’s not like anyone was freaking waiting for a spot… the parking lot was EMPTY! I was not a happy camper. LOL!
Merry Christmas to all… and to all a goodnight!
