My First Week of Work

My First Week of Work

Quote of the Day: “Work hard in silence. Let success be your noise.”

I didn’t post all week last week because I started my new job and just didn’t really have a lot of time! I am officially a working gal. I am working full-time at an accounting firm as a tax processor (don’t ask me what that means because I’m low-key still unsure what I’m actually doing). Today, I thought I would share what my first week of working full-time looked like.

My First Week:

First off, the place I work at is in the most PERFECT location. It is on a lagoon and is surrounded by other corporate offices such as Oracle. The view is literally so amazing and it is so nice to walk around during my lunch break. I work on the fourth floor (the top floor), so the view is GREAT! Also, the office break room is always stocked with delicious snacks such as bars, popcorn, chips, fruit, etc. I basically don’t need to bring any food with me…except I would get really chubby eating all of that haha.

I was so nervous about meeting the people I was going to work with. I feel like your coworkers can really make or break your experience and of course you want to get along with your coworkers because you’re basically spending 40 hours with them a week…that’s a freaking lot! Luckily for me, everyone I work with is super nice. They make work as enjoyable as it could be.

As for the actual work part… I have no idea what I’m doing. I thought after training I would feel confident and know what to do, but boy am I lost. I had no prior experience with accounting or taxes, so I feel completely useless right now. I am really hoping that the more I do it, the easier it will get…that’s usually how things work right? Hopefully I don’t fail at this job!

The one thing I was really unsure about was my workout schedule. I wasn’t sure if I would have enough time to workout or enough energy or even when to workout. I’m still figuring it out. This past week I went to the gym after work and would get home around 7:00 pm. It kind of sucked, but at least I got the job done. I think I’ll try a few morning workouts and see how I like that and if I survive the day after waking up at 5:30 am. The great thing about my work is that I can run around the lagoon during lunch if I want to. It’s about 1.5 miles around, so it’s perfect. I’ll probably do that at least once a week.

Overall, my first week of work was pretty good! I wasn’t too tired and I really enjoy the people I work with. Once I figure out what I’m actually doing, I’ll feel more confident. Ah I can’t believe that I’m an actual working woman…crazy. I thought I would also share my outfits of the week. Luckily I’m able to wear jeans! WOOHOO! (Excuse my horrible posing)
