A Noble Thanksgiving

A Noble Thanksgiving

Happy late Thanksgiving! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am so happy and grateful that I got to spend it at home with my family and I hope everyone got to spend Thanksgiving with their loved ones!

Today I wanted to share a little about my Thanksgiving break!

Wednesday (Day Before Thanksgiving):

This is one of the most hectic days of the holiday season. Thanksgiving is always at my house and my parents love to go all out (even if it’s just for eight people), so my mom and dad are in the kitchen from morning to night preparing for Thanksgiving day. While my parents cook, my sister and I are usually sent to the market a few times to retrieve last minute ingredients.

This year, I was on dessert duty. I actually always make a dessert, but this year my mom chose what I was going to make. She chose classic apple pie! I’ve never made a pie before, so I was excited to try something new to bake.

The pie dough wasn’t too difficult to make since it was “Foolproof” and the apples were delicious. I kept snacking on them, as you should do if you are baking. I didn’t want to make just an average looking apple pie, so I decided to make leaf cutouts and put them on top. It turned out FABULOUS!

Thursday (Thanksgiving Day):

Happy Thanksgiving! The morning is always spent in the kitchen. Mom and dad are cooking everything they couldn’t the day before…including the TURKEY! My sister and I are usually helping…except I ditched and went to the gym! I needed to get a workout in so I could eat my delicious pie. The gym was SO busy. It was kind of annoying, but I get it. Everyone has the same mentality.

My aunt, uncle, cousin, and cousins girlfriend arrived to our house around 1:30. We usually just chitchat for a while, eat hors d’oeuvres, and play cards! We played Cards Against Humanities. It’s not my favorite game, but it is pretty entertaining especially with my aunt and cousin.

Finally time to eat FOOD! We ate around 5:30 and stuffed our plates to the brim…except not really. My favorite dish we make is creamed corn. If you don’t make that for your Thanksgiving, you need to add it to the menu! It is a crowd favorite. I also made some delicious Martha Stewart Parker House Rolls. They were so easy to make especially when you watch the video and pause it at each step. These rolls turned out so fluffy!

After dinner, dessert of course! We had the apple pie that I made and a pumpkin pie…store bought (requested by my dad). We also whipped up some whipped cream, which was my favorite part of dessert, and had some vanilla ice cream. Dessert is so good always!

Friday (Black Friday):

I am a crazy person who loves to go shopping on Black Friday! Well, I really love shopping at all times, but there’s nothing better than Black Friday sales and Cyber Monday sales. I went to Stanford Shopping Center (the best mall ever) with my mom. We went to Abercrombie, Anthropolgie, Madewell, and more stores. I love shopping with my mom because she has good style and knows what will look good on me! I ended up getting a sweater from Abercrombie and a new phone case from Anthropologie. I also bought a few gifts online for people!

For lunch, my mom and I went to True Foods. We had edamame dumplings and split a burger. The dumplings were literally so good. I was kind of skeptical about them, but they ended up being my favorite part of the meal. The burger was also delicious. I wasn’t planning on getting anything to drink, but I saw a matcha horchata and HAD to get it and boy was it worth it. I love matcha and this matcha was AMAZING. I already can’t wait to go home and get it again.

After a day full of shopping, my mom and I went home and decorated our Christmas tree! I have loved decorating ever since I was little and will continue to love it for the rest of my life! We have so many different ornaments, so we get to choose a theme each year. We blast Christmas music and just get the job done! Meanwhile, my dad and sister are in San Francisco at the car show. Do you like our tree?

Last stop for the day, In N Out. I’m obsessed. People who say it’s not that good are SO COMPLETELY WRONG! They just don’t order the right thing! You have to order a cheese burger with grilled onions and fries!

I am so happy that it is OFFICIALLY CHRISTMAS SEASON! I have so many ideas that I want to post on my blog, so make sure to check back! Hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving!
