I’ve never been a podcast listener until very recently. I felt like everyone was always raving about their favorite podcasts or raving about podcasts that have helped them in life, but I just never understood the appeal. I tried listening to so many different podcasts, but never found any that entertained me enough or that trumped listening to music. I was almost going to give up on podcasts, but happened to come across one that really caught my attention. Ever since, I’ve found more podcasts that I’ve enjoyed and I guess I can officially called an avid podcast listener.
Here are my top three podcasts.
- Lauren Conrad: Asking For a Friend
So this is the podcast that first got me hooked on podcasts and sparked my joy towards them. I’ve kind of been obsessed with Lauren Conrad for at least a decade. I watched her on Laguna Beach and The Hills and am a daily viewer of her blog: laurenconrad.com. When I saw that she had a podcast, I just had to listen to it. Each podcast focuses on a topic such as social media, motherhood, relationships, wellness, etc. and includes an expert guest on each specific topic.I first listened to this podcast on my 10 hour car ride from the Bay Area to Portland because I got so tired of listening to music (shocking). It made the car ride go by so fast. I loved that the podcast was a conversation between Lauren and the guest and didn’t seem edited or fake at all. It was also informative and light-hearted. If you’re as obsessed with Lauren Conrad as I am or just want to learn more about a certain topic, definitely check this podcast out.
- The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast
This is for all my Bachelor, Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise fans. I came across this podcast this past summer when Sydney Lotauco left Bachelor in Paradise. I think I saw on her Instagram that she was going to be guest starred on this podcast and I really wanted to listen to what she had to say. This podcast is hosted by Ben Higgins and Ashley I. I just remember laughing at how much Ashley I. would cry over Jared…and now she’s freaking married to him. Literally a dream come true for her. This podcast literally covers everything about the Bachelor, Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise. I think each week (when one of the shows is going on), they interview someone on that season. As listeners, we really get the TEA on everything, especially the things that aren’t shown on TV. This is entertainment at its finest.
- Happy Hour with Gretchen Geraghty
I am kind of obsessed with Youtube and watching vlogs. I’ve watched Gretchen Geraghty for a view years now and am completely in love with her. She seems so genuine and happy all the time. Her personality is really contagious. She’s also living my dream: living in Boston. She recently started her podcast and I’m living for it. Her bubbly personality really comes across on her podcast and puts me in a great mood. I find her extremely relatable because she just graduated from college and is trying to figure out the next steps in her life. Just a really great girl and a really great podcast.
I know none of these podcasts are the most informative and won’t really help me with figuring out my life or inspiring me, but they are very entertaining and do put me in a good mood. I recommend listening to these, but if they’re not for you, I know there’s something out there for you. I can’t wait to continue my search for even more podcasts to listen to and obsess over! If you have a favorite podcast, let me know what it is! I would love to check it out!
