A Week In My Life

A Week In My Life

I just got back from visiting my boyfriend in Portland, Oregon! About a month ago Drew came to visit me in the Bay Area, so now it was my turn to visit him and have him show me all around. I honestly had the best week ever and we didn’t even fight… which is honestly surprising for us. It was the BEST! Here’s a little of what we did in Portland.

I had a really early flight to Portland Saturday morning because I wanted to spend max time with Drew. When he picked me up, we went straight to his house and talked for a long time, just catching up on life and what not. We then went to Nordstrom because I needed to return some Adidas shoes that I bought. Pretty sure we worked out that day…actually not sure about that. For dinner, we went to Bamboo Sushi aka my FAVORITE sushi restaurant ever. If you go there, get the Green Machine roll. It is amazing. After, we got Salt & Straw. Literally obsessed with ice cream. It’s an addiction…a bad addiction.

We started off Sunday with a nice 5K race/run. We decided to take part in the Aunty Deva 5K Aloha Fun Run in Vancouver, Washington because we both kind of like running…him way more than me. The course was really nice because it was along the river. It helps having a nice view. We ran the whole thing together…how adorable. I can’t wait for our next 5K race in August… Drew’s going to win the whole thing.

Before dinner, we went to the International Rose Garden in Washington Park. It was REALLY pretty! My mom would’ve LOVED it almost as much as she loves the Japanese Garden in Portland. For dinner, we went to PDX Sliders. It was delicious. I got a cheeseburger with bacon. YUM!!! Their fries were also really delicious and the margaritas are GOOD, but STRONG. After dinner, we saw The Lion King. It was really cute. I recommend.

Monday we went to Multnomah Falls. I’ve wanted to go here for awhile, but never got the opportunity while I was in school, so I’m really glad Drew took me here. Multnomah Falls is a waterfall in the Columbia River Gorge. We hiked, which wasn’t too bad…thankfully. It was GORGEOUS! I want to go there during the Fall. I bet it looks really pretty with the colorful leaves. If you go, I recommend going in the morning because it gets BUSY!

After the hike, we went on a run around his neighborhood. I LOVE his neighborhood so much…it’s so cute. We raced. I lost. Of course. For dinner, we went to a Mexican restaurant that his family goes to often. It was good! I got carne asada tacos of course.

Beach day! We went to Seaside. I’d only been once before and liked it. It’s a really touristy typical beach town. We went on a great day because it was HOT! We obviously went in the ocean because it’s just what we do :)! After laying out for a little, we got ice cream. It was good and cheap! We then walked the boardwalk. It was a nice walk.

When we got back to his house, he worked out. I watched. It was a great view. Does anyone else have a really difficult time working out in a non gym setting? I totally have that problem.

For dinner, we went to a Thai place. I got Pad Thai. I freaking love Pad Thai more than anything in the world. It’s so YUMMY! After, we watched Secret Obsession on Netflix. It’s bad. I wouldn’t recommend it, but if you like Brenda Song, then do it. I miss her in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

HOLY GUACAMOLE is all I have to say about this day. I decided that I wanted to hike Dog Mountain because it looked pretty, but I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. It was HARD. LIKE REALLY HARD. I died. I made Drew push me up :)! So high maintenance…so not fit. The hike was very steep, but once we made it to the top, it was so worth it. The view was WOW! Going down was hell though. So hard on my knees and so hard on his quads I guess.

After the hike, I felt like I needed to do at least some strength stuff, so I did some weights. Made my arms sore. I like that feeling sometimes. For dinner, we went to a Vietnamese restaurant. I got pho. So yummy and big! Nothing like some hot soup on a hot day! After dinner, we got ice cream. No shocker there.

Wah last day :(! We went to OMSI, aka Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. It was really cool. They had real fetuses there…kind of weird not going to lie. There were also a bunch of brain teaser activities. They made me feel really FREAKING dumb. Like really dumb!

After OMSI, we walked to downtown Portland to eat lunch. We had rice bowls. Always down for a good rice bowl. We then walked around and shopped a little. I didn’t buy anything though, even though I really wanted to, but I’m not buying clothes for the month of August (more about that later)! When we were walking back to the car, we stopped by the river and jumped in! It was SO fun! I love being in water more than I love being on land haha! Also, we finally went to the gym! I love the gym. For dinner, we went to PDX Sliders again. SO FREAKING GOOD. Got two margaritas…was not okay after.

My fight was around noon, so we didn’t really have time to do too much of anything. We went to breakfast at Waffle Window. It was delicious. I’m a sucker for sweet waffles. It’s such a good way to start the day. That’s about all we did before I had to go to the airport and go home! SAD!

Thanks for such an amazing week Drew! I had so much fun with you! Can’t wait to see you again!

Finally home for a few weeks. Can’t wait to get back into a routine and especially can’t wait to get my butt back in the gym. It’s an obsession.

Hope you enjoyed this week in my life.
