New York City: Day 2

New York City: Day 2

Keeping the intro real short today! I’m back with day two of Spring Break in New York City!

Day Two:

Day two was just me and my mom. We started the day off going to the Vessel. The Vessel is a new structure down in the Chelsea area. I don’t know if there is any real significance to this structure, but it’s essentially a lot of stairs. It looks like an inverted bird cage I guess. It’s so cool! I recommend going on a weekday if you can…the weekend would be crazy busy! Also, there’s an elevator if you cannot make it to the top, but it’s really not that bad at all.

There was a really fancy mall right next to the Vessel, so we decided to stop there and get warm. We went to a few shops, but didn’t get anything; we were too hungry. We ate lunch at Shack Shake. Literally every time I go there, it’s always PACKED! I think it’s decently good, but personally I don’t think it compares to In ‘N Out. California all the way!

A few years ago, we went to a place called Cha Cha Matcha. I became OBSESSED with it and needed to go back! We walked down to Soho just to get Cha Cha Matcha. Why am I such an obsessive person lol? I got the blue drink. It consisted of matcha, coconut milk, honey, and blue algae. It was okay, but not as good as I remember it. Kind of disappointing, but will still go back sometime.

After I had my fix of matcha, we did some shopping! Soho has really good stores around. Some are smaller boutiques, while others are classic stores such as Forever 21, American Eagle, LuluLemon etc. I actually ended up getting two things from American Eagle. Maybe I’ll show what I go in a later post. While we were in Soho, we stopped by this one hotel called NOMO SOHO! I really just wanted to take a picture of this beautiful archway.

By that point, we were exhausted. We headed back to the hotel via subway. The subway is actually the most convenient thing in the world! I kind of love it…kind of. We got off at Grand Central, which happens to be right next to Vineyard Vines. My mom and I both love that store. They have the best t-shirts and the best sweatshirts. A lot of people don’t like it because it’s too “preppy” but really they just can’t rock it, so they hate on it. My mom and I both got sweatshirts! Can’t wait to wear them!

After relaxing in the hotel for an hour, we went to dinner with my dad. We got ramen at Ippudo. It was pretty good, but not as good as Ramen Nagi in Palo Alto. BEST RAMEN EVER!

Day two was another GREAT day. I love spending days with my mom because neither of us really have an agenda and we just go with the flow, which is slightly surprising because if you know me, you know I’m so uptight haha!
