Spontaneity was the theme for this day! My friend Aly and I decided to randomly drive up to Seattle and have ourselves a day. We were so over studying and doing homework and just craved adventure. What is more adventurous than driving 4 hours to a different state, hanging out there for the day, then driving back around 12 hours later? Nothing. It was the PERFECT weekend to do this since it was a three-day weekend! Score! Now we feel as though we can do anything!
We started the day off by doing our favorite thing ever…EATING! We went to this cute little restaurant in downtown called Lola. Our waitress told us we HAD to get the donuts, so of course we didn’t oppose. Holy crap… these donuts were the most incredible things ever! I am just salivating looking at this picture. It was the perfect way to start the day. We then walked over to Pike’s Market Place because it’s just something you have to do when in Seattle (even though I’ve been there 2 times before).
Our next stop had us at a coffee shop. I believe it was called Union Coffee. It was aesthetically really pleasing, but they didn’t have too many options. I just ended up getting lemonade, but I don’t know why since I don’t really like lemonade. Shout out to Aly for being my model.
We walked around down near the water a little bit and drove around neighborhoods before we got hungry. We decided to go to Veggie Grill for lunch (it’s a personal favorite thanks to my friend Taylor). It is a vegan fast-food restaurant…super yummy. We went to the location in University Village. That little mall is seriously so cute and hands down one of my favorite malls.
To end the day we went to get some vegan ice cream from Frankie and Jo’s! I swear we do more than just eat …actually that is slightly false. I saw this place on Instagram and just had to give it a try! The shop is so adorable and well decorated! I love the wall with the leaf wallpaper. So my vibe. As for the ice cream, I mean it could’ve been better, but it was pretty good for vegan ice cream. I would probably go back. I ended up getting the Salted Caramel Charcoal ice cream.
Days like this one are my absolute favorite! I love getting out of the apartment, escaping from school, and just doing something out of the ordinary. I can’t wait for my next little day trip…stay tuned!
